We aim to provide high-quality and value for money services for our residents.

To achieve this, managing finances well is essential as well as ensuring that council tax levels remain among the lowest in the country.

To maintain value for money we:

  • attract external funding
  • monitor finances and moves resources into high priority areas as part of the budget process
  • are involved in partnership working with other public services
  • reduce costs where possible
  • improve procurement
  • sell our own services externally where appropriate
