The Council’s Road Safety Team investigates road casualty records collected by Kent Police when there is crash. Detailed information is collected by the police when attending a crash where someone has been injured on the road.

Analysis of this information allows the Council to identify priority road user groups and locations that may benefit from road alterations to help reduce the likelihood of more crashes and casualties being recorded on our roads.

Our Road Safety Officers deliver a year-round road safety education and training to all ages and road users as well as promoting road safety through local and national safety campaigns. The education includes school based lessons, theatre in education, practical training on road, Bikeability and journey planning.

It is important that best use is made of the resources available for road safety. All safety measures are therefore targeted on the grounds of casualty reduction, helping to prevent further casualties on our roads. You can make a road safety enquiry if you want to find out more.
