Renew your carer parking permit

You should renew your permit at least 14 days before the expiry date. This will give us time to process your new permit and get it to you in time.

Before you start, you'll need:

  • a letter from your employer, on headed paper, proving you’re an employee and need a parking permit. This must be dated with 3 months
  • if you use your own vehicle, provide vehicle proof, such as a copy of your vehicle registration document or insurance certificate
  • if you drive a company vehicle, a letter from your employer to confirm your name, home address and details of the company vehicle you drive.

Your proof must be clear and readable.

What happens next

We'll email you to tell you if your application is successful. If we do not approve your application we’ll tell you why.

Once we approve your application you have 60 days to pay for your carer parking permit. We’ll email you a link to pay the £40 fee online. From 8 April 2024, the new price will be £50.

We will send the permit to your company address within 10 working days of you making payment.

Once you receive your permit you must display it clearly in your vehicle or risk being issued with a parking fine, also known as a penalty charge notice (PCN).
