On 2 May 2019, elections are being held for all 55 Medway Council seats in all of the 22 wards in Medway and the 11 parish councils.

A total of 163 seats will be available for election.

Election timetable

Here are some of the important dates in the statutory timetable for the elections:

Publication of the Notices of Election that start the formal election period Tuesday 26 March
Start of period for delivery of nomination papers between 9am and 6pm daily (except weekends and bank holidays)  From Wednesday 27 March
Last date for the delivery of nomination papers 4pm on Wednesday 3 April
List of candidates standing in the local election and any contested parish elections published Thursday 4 April
Last date for receipt of applications to register in time to vote in the elections Friday 12 April
Last date for receipt of new applications for a postal vote (or to amend an existing postal vote) for the elections 5pm on Monday 15 April
Last date for receipt of applications to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf 5pm on Wednesday 24 April
