Types of education settings for children and young people with SEND

There are many different types of education settings in Medway, from a child or young person starting school to going to university.

All providers are expected to make reasonable adjustments for children and young people with disabilities, including those with special educational needs. This is in accordance with their duties under the Equality Act 2010.

Compulsory school attendance

Your child must start full-time education once they reach compulsory school age (5 years old). This applies to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
