Medway Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency team who work with children and young people aged between 10 and 17 who have committed an offence.
We support them to help make changes in their lives so they do not get into further trouble. This includes promoting restorative justice and working with victims.
If you're arrested
If you get arrested, you'll be taken to a police station, held in custody and then questioned.
Going to youth court
Going to court can be a worrying and challenging time for you and your parent or carer. Medway Youth Justice Service will be at court to help and support you throughout the day.
Orders and sentences
There are different types of orders and sentences that you might receive.
Repairing the harm
Repairing the harm is a way to make amends for the harm caused by the crime and to help a child or young person understand the effect of the crime on the victims.

Make a complaint
Firstly, speak to your Youth Justice Service (YJS) worker who will try and put things right straight away.
If you're still not happy then ask to speak to the manager of your YJS worker.
If you're still not happy then ask to speak to the service manager or head of service. You can ask a friend or an adult you know and trust to help you with this.
If you wish to take your complaint further, you can make a complaint about a children's social care service.
