The Youth Justice Community Panel help to run referral order panels involving children and young people who have committed offences, their parents or guardians and victims.

Together, the panel will create and agree on a tailored plan to support the child or young person. This process encourages rehabilitation through interventions, restorative justice and giving back to the community through direct or indirect reparation.

By joining the panel, you'll:

  • make a visible impact on the lives of the young people and your community
  • gain valuable experience in Youth Justice
  • be a part of a supportive volunteer network and receive ongoing training
  • help make your community safer
  • support children and young people in repairing the harm caused by their actions
  • ensure victim’s voices are heard and acknowledged.

Who can be on the panel

To be on the panel you must be aged 18 or over. You do not need any previous experience or qualifications, as full training will be given.

We’re looking for individuals with a non-judgemental attitude, good communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality.

All volunteers must undergo an enhanced DBS check.
