It's now time to have your say on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) for Kent and Medway.
The government is running a statutory consultation to find out what you think of the proposals.
They're looking for your views on the 5 proposals submitted by our local councils which suggest how new unitary councils should be created in our area.
Take part in the government consultation
You can take part in the consultation online, by email or letter.
The consultation ends at 11.59pm on Thursday 26 March 2026.
Take part in the consultation on GOV.UK
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) will collect and consider the views put forward.
Past consultation
Medway and Kent councils conducted a public and stakeholder engagement exercise before submitting their final proposals to government in November 2025.
This was to find out what's important to people living, working and studying in Kent regarding the reorganisation of our councils.
