About Once Upon a Time in Luton
Once Upon a Time in Luton is a circular walking route that takes you through the streets of Luton and Darland Banks.
We're currently creating the map and recording audio for this route. We'll update this page when they're ready.
About the route
There will be 12 stops along this route, with 12 audio tracks to listen to while you walk.
Our audio tracks will answer local mysteries such as:
- why the railings got bent near the car park
- why there are so many crows in the area
- what happens if you walk through Sloe Forest at the top of Darland Banks
- the talking horses of Darland Banks
- who and what are the 'Victory Nightingales'
- the truth about local cats and what they get up to.
Who's involved
This is a Creative Health Medway project. The art organisation White Rabbit is running this library project for us.
Artists include:

- Melanie Smith
- Hannah Marshall.
They've been working with children from Kingfisher and Luton Primary Schools, as well as residents from the Victory Care Home.
