To mark World Mental Health Day (10 October) Medway Libraries has invested in extra copies of the Reading Well collections.
The collections provides helpful information and support for managing common mental health conditions, or dealing with difficult feelings and experiences.
Some books also include personal stories from people who are living with or caring for someone with mental health needs. The Reading Well books are recommended by health experts.
All of Medway’s libraries now have additional copies of the books for children, young people and adults and they are also available online. The collections include Ruby Wax’s Mindfulness guide for the frazzled, Matt Haig’s Reasons to stay alive and Outsmarting worry by Dawn Huebner.
Medway Libraries is also lending 30 sets of the collections to schools and workplaces to help support wellbeing in the run-up to Christmas.
