Hundreds of residents have already taken advantage of our free family-fun sports sessions.

Medway Family Sports Night, funded by our child-friendly Medway initiative, gives Medway’s young people and families the opportunity to try different sports and activities for free at Medway Park.

The initiative launched in February and families have just a couple weeks left to join-in the fun – the last free sessions are on Friday, 25 March and Friday, 1 April, between 4pm and 7pm.

Qualified coaches are on hand and will be running cricket and basketball games. Families can also play short tennis, badminton and table tennis. Parents can even take a leap back to their schools years and challenge their children to a game of dodgeball or rounders. No booking necessary for land activities. Those who fancy a dip in the pool can book onto a swimming session between 4pm and 6pm by phoning 01634 336655.

Fantastic sports facilities

Cllr Howard Doe, Deputy Leader and portfolio holder of Community Services, said: “Medway has fantastic sports facilities and offers residents of all ages the chance to enjoy a variety of activities. I am delighted that hundreds of families have been able to get together on a Friday night and enjoy sports for free. This initiative supports our aspiration to become a Child-Friendly City, putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do.”
