The gym at Medway Park has had a state-of-the-art makeover.

More than 40 new pieces of equipment have been installed at the gym in Gillingham.

New cardio equipment including bikes, rowers, treadmills and cross-trainers with digital display screens have been installed and customers are able to sync their headsets to Netflix, Amazon TV, immersive seascapes or their own digital workout.

Plate-loaded resistance machines, which encourage muscle building, strengthening and toning have also been installed.

Gymgoers are now able to use unique pieces of equipment including the latest StepMills, Alpha and curved treadmills, which use gravity to move users along and adapt to their individual speeds.

Following the popularity of on-demand workouts, Techno-gym bikes have been introduced and customers can choose their own class, level, instructor and environment to cycle through.

Excellent sporting activities

Cllr Howard Doe, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “I am pleased gymgoers are now able to use more than 40 new pieces of equipment at Medway Park. The new equipment is suitable for customers of all abilities and our friendly Medway Park staff will happily welcome residents for a tour of the facilities and show gymgoers how to get the most out of the machines for a great workout. Medway has an excellent range of sporting activities on offer for residents of all ages, and abilities to enjoy, and I would encourage residents to find out more.”
