Young people make a huge contribution

Rose Stokes, Chair of Medway Youth Council, said: “Young people make a huge contribution in making Medway a better place to live. I am thrilled to see these amazing people get the recognition they deserve. Please nominate the young people near you that help change society for the better and to help champion the achievements of all.”

Celebrating young people's achievements

Cllr Josie Iles, Medway Council’s Lead Member for Children’s Services: “I am delighted that we will be celebrating, and showcasing, the achievements of Medway’s young people once again this year. The Medway Youth Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the children and young people who make a real difference in our communities. I would encourage residents to nominate young people for the awards. I am looking forward to hearing their inspirational stories at the awards ceremony in November.”

Children are at the heart of everything we do

Cllr Martin Potter, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Education and Schools, and Child-Friendly Champion, said: “Children and young people are at the very heart of everything we do and it's so important we recognise those who have made a significant positive impact in Medway. I am thrilled that we will, once again, be celebrating the achievements of Medway’s young people who have made a special contribution to our community in various ways.”

The Medway Youth Awards will take place on Wednesday, 9 November, at Gillingham Football Club, Priestfield Stadium.

The awards are supported by our Child-Friendly Medway team which is working with children and young people across Medway to make the area an even more child-friendly place to live work, learn and visit.
