Schools across Medway are taking part in Walk to School Week.

As part of the national campaign, which takes place from today (Monday, 16 May) to Friday, 20 May, pupils are encouraged to travel to and from school in a fun and active way.

We are supporting the Walk2Count Challenge, supported by the KM Charity Team and schools are still able to register to take part. All primary and secondary schools involved will receive an e-certificate and the winners will be congratulated with a framed certificate to proudly display at their school for their achievement.

Our road safety team visits schools all year round to teach children valuable lessons about crossing the road, the importance of wearing a seatbelt, pedestrian safety and traffic awareness. So far this year, the team has visited 6,721 pupils from 83 schools.
