Residents are invited to an inspirational talk this week to celebrate the life of Rosemary Tonks.

The mysterious life of the critically acclaimed writer will be discussed at Gillingham Library on Tuesday, 24 May from 7.30pm until 9pm to give residents an insight into the famous novelist’s success and puzzling disappearance.

Rosemary was born in Gillingham and makes up part of the Six Women of Gillingham project, launched by Medway Council’s Culture Team to uncover local feminist heroes. The talk will coincide with the re-issue of one of Rosemary’s most famous novels, The Bloater.
