A restaurant in an old fire station, architectural lighting at a historic church and a listed building home to a café, gallery and art studios, are just some of the shortlisted buildings.

More than 36 entries were submitted for this year’s Medway Design and Regeneration Awards and the nominated buildings and developments have now been shortlisted.

An independent panel of judges will now select an overall winner for each of the seven categories and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Rochester Corn Exchange on Thursday, 22 September. The awards ceremony will be hosted by David Birkbeck, chief executive at Design for Homes and Sadie Morgan, co-founding director at award winning architecture practice dRMM, will be a guest speaker.

Celebrating innovative projects and developments

Leader of Medway Council, Cllr Alan Jarrett, said: “We received some fantastic entries for this year’s Medway Design and Regeneration Awards. The awards highlight and celebrate the innovative developments and projects that are helping shape the area. I wish all the shortlisted projects the best of luck and look forward to celebrating with the winners at the award ceremony in September.”

The Medway Design and Regeneration Awards are sponsored by Bailey Partnership Architects, Bellway Homes Ltd, DHA Planning, Esquire Developments, Redrow Homes, Rochester Riverside, Barton Willmore – Now Stantec and the Copper Rivet Distillery.
