Celebrate Medway's home-grown talent

Cllr Howard Doe, Deputy Leader of Medway Council and Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said:

“We are proud to be showcasing the extensive range of Medway’s creative talent, in a wide variety of venues, at Intrafest. The festival forms part of our fantastic Medway Presents events programme and supports Medway’s cultural strategy, delivered by Creative Medway and aim for the area to be internationally recognised for its creativity and culture by 2030. Intrafest also supports our aspiration to become a child-friendly city, creating more opportunities for young people. There will be live music to suit the whole family’s tastes and I would encourage residents to book their tickets early, to avoid disappointment. We look forward to celebrating Medway’s home-grown talent at Intrafest.”

Come together to celebrate Medway's uniqueness

Rochester resident Janet Fischer is the CEO of Live Music Now, which has organised IntraFest with funding from Medway Council.

Janet said: “IntraFest is going to be a music festival with a difference, offering up the acts you know and the acts you don’t in some surprising venues across The Old High Street Intra area, from pubs and bars to restaurants, shops and community spaces.

“As a local resident, I have long held a desire to create a networked arts landscape across Medway. The area boasts so many fantastic artistic and creative initiatives, and there is a real desire to come together to celebrate what is unique and amazing about Medway. Our aim with IntraFest is to use our position as a national organisation to catalyze and support locals, creating a real excitement and buzz about Medway’s exceptional locally-grown talent.

“As we emerge from several years of Covid restrictions, we’re seeing a huge appetite for live music and arts events which enable communities to come together, socialise, re-connect and actually enjoy themselves once again.

“IntraFest certainly promises to be an unmissable weekend of live music and I would urge people to buy their tickets while they are still available!”

Individual venue tickets go on sale on the 28th of June. In addition to ticketed events, there will be free events and an opportunity to purchase limited edition merchandise, or even make your own. View ticketing information.
