Lordswood Library will close for a few days next week for maintenance upgrades, as part of the council’s plan to tackle climate change.

From Monday, 18 July to Wednesday, 20 July the library will be closed to upgrade the heating to a new, more energy efficient system. The library will reopen on Thursday, 21 July with normal operating hours, 9am to 5pm.

We declared a Climate Change emergency in 2019 and since then have been developing an action plan and working hard to achieve our target of net zero carbon in Medway by 2050. The improvements to Lordswood Library are part of our commitment to making environmental improvements to buildings, to reduce carbon emissions.
