The hotly anticipated three-day festival promises to cook up a storm, with delicious drinks and tasty treats on offer from around the world.

The festival, organised by Zoom Events in partnership with us, will be taking place in the historic Rochester Castle Gardens, from Friday, 31 March to Sunday, 2 April.

There will be a live kitchen theatre featuring exciting talks from local chefs and businesses in the food industry on Saturday and Sunday. Explore the latest trends, techniques, and flavours in the culinary world. The lineup of expert speakers will share their insights and experiences, giving attendees the opportunity to learn from the best in the business. From cooking demonstrations to panel discussions, the live kitchen theatre is perfect for foodies, home cooks, and anyone looking to learn more about the food industry.

Ticket holders will be able to sit back and relax with picturesque views of the castle and cathedral on one side and stunning views of the River Medway on the other, all whilst enjoying a specially curated lineup of Kentish musicians on the music stage. Visitors will also be able to indulge in some shopping with arts and crafts, jewellery, homeware and grocery stalls across the castle gardens.

The family-friendly event will also have a children’s area which will feature interactive learning, music, a magician and games. Children aged 10 and under can attend the daytime festival for free, and those who book their ticket in advance can take advantage of discounted prices.

In addition to the daytime festivities, there will be separate evening entertainment for adults only; live comedy will entertain the crowds on the Friday and Saturday nights.

The daytime foodie festival and evening comedy entertainment are both ticketed events and are on sale now.

Daytime ticket holders will also have the opportunity to enter Rochester Castle keep and soak in the views from the country’s finest and tallest Norman castle.

More food and drink stalls will be added to the lineup, keep an eye on Zoom’s event website. You can also find out more about the hilarious lineup of comedians that will be entertaining crowds during the evening events.

Cllr Howard Doe, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “Medway has so much to offer, and we are looking forward to welcoming both residents and visitors to the picturesque Rochester Castle for the Medway Food and Drink Festival. The three-day festival is set to be a great weekend of food, drink and live entertainment for the whole family. I am pleased that there will be a dedicated children’s area, which supports our aspiration to make Medway even more child-friendly and to put young people at the heart of what we do.”

Medway presents more than 30 festivals and events throughout the year, reaching half a million people in 2022, and the Medway Food and Drink Festival will set the path for the spring and summer events of 2023. The English Festival will return to the award-winning Riverside Country Park, Gillingham, on Saturday, 15 April, before the much-loved Rochester Sweeps Festival rounds-up springtime at the end of April.
