We awarded the Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment (PWRR) with freedom of the borough on Sunday, 1 July to mark their long association with Medway.

To celebrate, a parade was held in Chatham town centre and a salute took place outside Gun Wharf in Dock Road with the Mayor of Medway, Cllr Steve Iles.

The salute was followed by a short civic ceremony and the formal presentation of the freedom scroll, for invited guests.

Company C of 3 Battalion PWRR, the Army Reserve Battalion, have been stationed at Fort Clarence in Rochester since 2006.
