School is officially out, and families will now be able to explore all that Medway has to offer for less.
From Saturday, 1 to Monday, 31 August, children between the ages of five to 15-years-old will be able to travel for free on buses in Medway.
Operators taking part in this year’s scheme include:
- Arriva.
- ASD.
- Nu-Venture.
- Chalkwell.
- Kent Country.
Fantastic for the environment
Cllr Simon Curry, Portfolio Holder for Climate Change and Strategic Regeneration, said: “We are very excited to be able to offer free bus travel for children once again this summer, helping families enjoy everything Medway has to offer. Equally, this is great news for local businesses, leisure and heritage sites.
“Using public transport is also fantastic for the environment – transport makes up 35 per cent of Medway’s emissions, and schemes like these mean you can contribute towards creating a greener Medway.”
This initiative is part of the government’s Great British Saving Scheme. As part of the same scheme, we are offering families the chance to save on children’s admissions to activities over the summer.
