The brand-new marketing suite and show home at Rochester Riverside, Countryside and Hyde’s £419m regeneration scheme in Medway, have been officially unveiled by the Leader of Medway Council.
At an event to mark the occasion, Cllr Alan Jarrett opened the marketing suite and show home to Medway residents for the first time. With the initial homes at Rochester Riverside now available for sale, it marks a major milestone in the development of the landmark scheme.
When complete, Rochester Riverside will provide up to 1,400 new homes across four distinctive neighbourhoods. The first homes now on sale include one and two-bedroom apartments, and three and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses, with prices starting from £199,950. Help to Buy is available on all properties.
The development will also deliver a new primary school, retail space, a hotel and over ten acres of green, open space, thereby creating a landmark destination on the banks of the River Medway.
Situated next to Rochester Station, residents will benefit from high-speed train links to Stratford International (30 minutes) and St Pancras International (38 minutes).
'Growth for all'
Cllr Alan Jarrett, Leader of Medway Council, said: “Rochester Riverside is an exciting development and is fundamental to our monumental regeneration programme, which will provide growth for all. I am pleased the development is progressing well and it is no surprise to hear that there is already a lot of interest in the new homes.
“Rochester Riverside will provide a choice of properties to meet the growing demand for homes of all sizes in Medway. The site will also include affordable housing, as well as a new school. Medway is already a great place to live, work, learn and visit, and Rochester Riverside is another area which provides opportunities for all.”

Rochester community is at the heart of the scheme

Rochester Riverside is the region’s flagship regeneration scheme, transforming a previously unused site into a new destination over the next 12 years. The development will uniquely feature 10 acres of landscaped and green open space such as play areas and parks, whilst the new 2.5 km public riverside walkway opens up a key part of the riverside.
Construction at the scheme has begun on the first three phases, comprising 489 homes and a hotel, along with 2,200 sq m of commercial floorspace. The first wave of new homes is anticipated to complete from March 2019 onwards.
