An event organised by the Medway Community Safety Partnership and Medway Sport aims to encourage residents aged 50 and above to become more active and socialise.

Parkwood Youth Centre is holding a free feel good event for anyone over the age of 50 (or those that work with or support older people), on Friday, 14 December, 10am to 1pm. Refreshments available on the day include tea and mince pies!

The event organised by Medway Community Safety Partnership and Medway Sport will include a mixture of taster sessions, such as boxing from Olympia Boxing and Medway Boxing for Parkinson’s, curling and chair based exercises. Which means there will be something for everyone.

Information about local services will be on offer from: Community Safety Team, Sports Team, Medway Health Team, MCG Telecare, Carers First, Kent Police & Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Advice about a range of topics will be on offer throughout the day from healthy choices, how to stay fit, details on groups/activities that are available and personal and home safety advice.

The day aims to make sport more accessible for older people and to help them socialise.

The venue is Parkwood Youth Centre, Parkwood Green, Gillingham, ME8 9PN.
