Medway residents are being encouraged to enter the Medway Blossoms front garden competition 2019 for the chance to win garden centre vouchers and the chance to have their name engraved on a shield.

Medway residents are being encouraged to enter the Medway Blossoms front garden competition 2019 for the chance to win garden centre vouchers, and, for the first time, the chance to have their name engraved on the Medway Blossoms shield.

Entries are now open for the competition and any front garden, whether it is a neat and tidy lawn, flower bed or colourful window box, can be entered.

Residents can enter one photo per household by messaging Medway Council – service updates and information on Facebook or by emailing a photo of their front garden to communityteam@medway.gov.uk including their name, town and a contact number.

Alternatively, residents wishing to submit their photo by post can send their entry, with their name, address and phone number to: Community Wardens, Garden Competition, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR.

Medway Council’s community wardens will also be on the lookout for potential entries.

Celebrating residents who take pride in their gardens

Sarah Valdus, Medway Council’s Head of Environmental Services, said: “We work hard all year round to keep Medway clean and tidy and the Medway Blossoms competition celebrates residents who take pride in maintaining their front gardens to a high standard. Medway has seven award-winning parks and green spaces and the competition is a chance for us to reward green-fingered residents who work hard to keep their own gardens looking great. Good luck to everyone who enters.”

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Sunday, 26 May.

If entering on Facebook send an inbox message to facebook.com/medwaycouncilupdates.

The winners will be contacted during the week commencing 10 June, using the contact details they provided. The overall winner will receive a £100 Dobbies Garden Centre voucher, second place will receive £50 and third place will receive £25. The winners will also receive engraved trophies.
