A chart-topping contemporary choir will perform at Rochester Castle Concerts this summer.
Rock Choir will take to the stage during the Proms on Saturday, 13 July. The pioneering contemporary choir of the UK has more than 30,000 members participating in approximately 400 local communities. The choir performing at the Proms is made up of various Rock Choir members from across Medway and will be more than 50 singers strong. They will perform before the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
The 2019 Castle Concert Proms features the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra with special guests Collabro and Laura Wright. They will perform a range of iconic James Bond soundtracks as well as classical hits for a traditional Proms finale including The 1812 Overture, Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Pomp & Circumstance March no 1.
Rock Choir began in Farnham, Surrey in 2005 by musician and singer, Caroline Redman Lusher with just 70 members. Caroline is recognised as the individual responsible for pioneering the contemporary choir movement in the UK.
Members perform feel-good pop, rock and contemporary chart songs and in December 2018 Rock Choir topped the iTunes Christmas charts with its first Christmas single, The First Noel/Silent Night. They will perform before the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and will join them onstage at various points during the show.
Rock Choir have also achieved three Guinness World Records for: the largest musical act to release and album (signed), the biggest hit act in the UK and the largest song and dance routine held at multiple venues.
The Proms evening will also feature spectacular dancing water fountain displays and a fantastic fireworks finale which is set to delight audiences.
'The Proms is a fantastic finale to the Castle Concerts'
