The play area at Capstone Farm Country Park has had a makeover.
New toddler and junior play equipment has been installed in the playground including an accessible ramp and low level play panels.
Capstone Farm Country Park is one of Medway’s seven Green Flag parks and is the largest country park in Medway covering 114 hectares. Capstone also attracts 400,000 visitors each year.
The play area is in the heart of the park alongside the lake and café and the new equipment is designed to create a more inclusive area.
The toddler unit now sits at the top of the slope so that it can be accessed easily by younger children and includes a slide, bridge and play panels. The larger junior unit has been uniquely designed for the site and has ramps, decks, a tube slide, a ladder net, balance bridges, monkey rings, sliding poles and much more which offer children of every age and ability the opportunity to interact or play alone. A wheelchair accessible ramp leads to a deck with multiple play panels.
New equipment for children of all ages to enjoy
Cllr Howard Doe, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “Capstone Farm Country Park is one of our seven Green Flag parks in Medway and I am delighted that we have installed new play equipment in the park for children of all ages to enjoy. I am pleased that the play area has opened during October half term and I hope children will enjoy using the new equipment.”
