Residents have settled into brand-new homes on a £1million housing development in Twydall, just in time for Christmas.
Medway Council has built six one-bedroom bungalows in Petham Green which were created especially for older residents and people with mobility problems.
The bungalows have rear level access, large wetrooms and automatic bathroom window openers. There are also provisions for a hoist to be fitted between the bedroom and wetroom, if needed.
The new homes complement the existing council-owned houses in the area and create a community atmosphere, with the bungalows positioned in a square around a green.
Petham Green and greenspace in the middle of the properties. Residents moved into the bungalows from other council properties which will now be offered to other families.
'We wish residents all the best as they settle into their new homes'
Cllr Howard Doe, Deputy Leader of Medway Council and Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Services, said: “The Petham Green development showcases our commitment to continuing to provide affordable housing for the people of Medway. I am pleased that we have built homes specifically for older residents and people with mobility needs as the bungalows will have a positive impact on the lives of the residents moving into them. We wish the residents all the best as they settle into their new homes.”
