Parking charges have been suspended for all NHS staff and social care workers in Medway during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Medway Council’s car parks and parking bays can be used free of charge by NHS staff and social care workers.

Medway Council has provided social care workers with parking permits to be used when they are out in communities supporting residents.

NHS leads have also been provided details on how their staff can access the free parking across Medway.

Leader of Medway Council, Cllr Alan Jarrett, said: “It is important we do all we can to help those providing such a vital role during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have put measures in place so all NHS staff and social care workers will be able to use Medway Council’s car parks and parking bays for free. Thank you to everyone who is working day and night to support those most in need across our communities, including our social care workers who are continuing to support Medway’s most vulnerable residents.”
