Exhibition launched to celebrate The Strand’s 125th anniversary | Medway Council
Published: Wednesday, 2nd June 2021

To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Strand in Gillingham, we have created an online exhibition which showcases fond memories and images from residents.

The exhibition forms part of Estuary 21, a festival which aims to celebrate the lives, landscapes and history of the Thames Estuary.

There are more than 20 exciting events and activities happening across Medway during the festival, which supports Medway’s aspirations to become UK City of Culture in 2025.

Both Estuary 21 and the online exhibition, support Medway’s aspiration to become a Child-Friendly- City, putting children and young people at the heart of everything it does.

The Strand pool will reopen for weekends only from Saturday, 29 May and every day from 24 July. All residents must book in advance and provide their booking information upon arrival.
