Chatham Waterfront Bus Station
With its modern, coherent design, Chatham Waterfront Bus Station
presents a welcoming reception to the bustling heart of Medway.
Bus services run from the station seven days a week serving
destinations across Medway and Kent.
There are four platforms labelled A, B, C and D, each with
a number of individual stops on them. Every stop has an electronic
display showing timetabled information and also real time
information for through services.
For information on bus services and to purchase tickets,
visit the Travel Information Centre which is located on Platform A.
It is open from 8am
to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on
Saturdays. It is
closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Forthcoming works Chatham Bus Station
Improvement works to upgrade the current crossing points at
Chatham Waterfront Bus Station will start on 20 February
2017 (off peak between 7pm - 5am). The works will take
approximately 3 weeks to complete. For the protection of the
public and the workforce there will be some road closures and
a diversion route in place.
There will temporary closures of:
- Waterfront Way at the junction with Globe Lane/Medway
- Medway Street at the junction with Globe Lane/Waterfront
The roads will not be closed at the same time, and a signed
diversion will be in place whenever there are road closures. Please
note that buses may operate from different stands while works are
From March 3-6 - Changes to services 101, 176, and 185 due to
roadworks at Maidstone Road/Huntsman's Corner.
Due to essential emergency roadworks taking place at the
junction of A230 Maidstone Road and Walderslade Road, and Pattens
Lane the whole junction will be closed from 7pm on Friday 3
March, until the morning of Monday 6
Bus stops in Pattens Lane, and Maidstone Road from Huntsman's
Corner to The Ridgeway will be unserved while the roadworks are
This will mean the following changes to bus services will take
Arriva Service 101
The first journey on Friday to be diverted
will be the 1836 ex Gillingham then all journeys until the last
journey on Sunday.
Buses will run as now to Chatham Bus Station
then into the Rail Station the normal route for Rochester Bound
At Chatham Rail Station Maidstone bound buses
will observe Stop A then proceed via New Road and City Way to
All stops along City Way will be observed
by the 101.
TOWARDS CHATHAM AND
The first journey to be diverted on Friday 3
March will be the 1832 Ex Maidstone Pudding Lane then all journeys
until the last journey on Sunday
Buses will run as normal to Davis Estate Tiger
Moth then via City Way, New Road and Gibraltar Hill to pick
up the normal route from Chatham Rail Station.
All stops along City Way will be
observed by the 101.
Arriva Service 176
Buses will run the normal route to Chatham
Football Ground then diverted via Bournville Avenue, Palmerston
Road and Magpie Hall Road to Walderslade Road and normal route
Buses will run as normal to Walderslade Road
then Magpie Hall Road, Palmerston Road and Letchworth Avenue to
Maidstone Road and normal route.
Nu-Venture 185 Service
This route will be diverted away from Pattens
Lane/Maidstone Road via City Way and rejoin Maidstone Road at
Coaches visiting Chatham Town Centre and the theatres are
required to pre-book their visit at least 48 hours in advance if
they wish to enter Chatham Bus Station. Coaches are only permitted
to drop-off and collect passengers at bus stop D19 on Waterfront
Way. No parking is allowed. Coaches must park at the Acorn Wharf coach
