Rochester Castle is open. Last entry will be 45 minutes before closing time.

The castle grounds are open each day until 9pm. 

Rochester Castle is one of the best preserved and finest examples of Norman architecture in England.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates

COVID-19 restrictions have been eased.

Social distancing has been relaxed, and it is no longer a requirement to wear face coverings.

QR codes are available, and there are hand sanitising stations around our buildings.

Events

Due to events in the castle grounds from Tuesday 14 September until Tuesday 21 September, access to the Keep is only available from the Baker’s Walk entrance. Please follow the directional arrows.

Normal opening times apply on:

  • Sunday 19 September
  • Tuesday 21 September.

  • Saturday 18 September
