Future Gillingham project
We have commissioned Design South East, an independent not-for-profit organisation, to run a new project with Gillingham residents and businesses.
The aim of the project is to understand:
- what you value in your town centre
- what changes you would like to see.
With your help we'll develop a new Gillingham Town Centre Action Plan and set a clear vision for the transformation of the area over the coming years.
As part of this, we've set up a new community panel.
Gillingham Community Panel
Gillingham Community Panel is an opportunity to play a part in improving the town centre, making it a better place to live, work, learn and visit.
The panel is made up of 40 people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to reflect the town's population.
You could apply to join our panel by completing our online form. Applications closed at 11.59pm on Sunday 22 September 2024.
Panel members have now been selected and will meet to discuss:
- the future of Gillingham Town Centre
- what community facilities Gillingham needs
- what they love about the area
- what makes them proud to be a part of the local community.
The panel will meet for 3 workshops taking place in Gillingham Town Centre on the following dates:
- Saturday 2 November 2024
- Saturday 30 November 2024
- Saturday 1 February 2025.
The Gillingham Community Panel is just one of a number of activities coming forward under a new Gillingham Town Centre Taskforce.
