Changing Places Toilets are different to standard disabled toilets with extra features and more space to meet the needs of people with profound and multiple learning difficulties and others with personal care needs and their carers.
In addition, these toilets cater for people with serious impairments such as:
- spinal injury
- muscular dystrophy
- multiple sclerosis
- acquired brain injuries
These facilities include a height adjustable changing bench, a hoist system and space for a disabled person and up to two carers.
There are currently three Changing Places toilets in Medway at:
