Description

Arthritis Care offers information and support to let you take back control of your arthritis.

Our support services help you to:

  • better understand your condition
  • manage your pain
  • access essential information and services
  • make positive lifestyle changes
  • feel less isolated

Through our Living Well with Arthritis support services, our trained volunteers work alongside community groups and health and social care professionals, encouraging you to take a proactive role in the physical, mental and emotional aspects of arthritis.

Services are provided through peer-to-peer support, over the phone, in groups or one-to-one.

Services include:

Everyday changes - This event provides arthritis resources, self-management techniques and local service signposting.

Individual support call - A personal goal setting, decision making and care plan telephone service. Between to and six hour-long sessions can be taken at any one time with a minimum of two one-hour calls that cover coping with pain, treatment options and goal-setting.

Get active - Volunteers work with you to support and encourage an active lifestyle. Activities can include tai chi, seated exercise sessions and complementary therapies for a happier and healthier lifestyle.
