Our friendly club offers people with mobility problems the opportunity to benefit from swimming and water-based relaxation therapy.
Cost: The first visit is free, after which annual membership is £10 and the cost of each visit is £2.
Who it's for
We welcome anyone who has mobility difficulties including those recovering from more serious issue such as strokes, heart problems, multiple injuries and arthritis.
Facilities
We have sole use of half the fitness pool, the boom pool and the large teaching pool between 12noon and 1pm.
There are no formal lessons and members are given assistance based on their individual needs.
For those who can swim unaided, the fitness pool is available to them to swim at their own leisure in an uncrowded environment.
We also have qualified teachers for those who want to develop water skills or benefit from the freedom of moving in water.
An Aqua Aerobics session is held in the teaching pool for those with slow or limited mobility.
There is a hoist in both pool areas to assist with those with physical disabilities to enter and exit the pool.
