Medway Pensioners Forum
Description

The Medway Pensioners Forum exists to inform our members and older people generally about issues that affect them as older members of society.

We do this by holding a series of talks and presentations once monthly in the summer period from informed professionals.

Our aim is, through questioning and discussion, to encourage people to meet and get to know what is going on in the local older peoples' provision and by raising issues with relevant workers we hope to influence provision.

Getting members out and taking part in a discussion helps our members to counter loneliness and keep their minds active.

Our other main activity is the Magazine that is overseen by Peter Nassan.

It comes out every 6 to 8 weeks and contains not only a wealth of useful information from reputable sources but also a collection of jokes, poems and reminiscences.

This can help older people who are on their own to combat isolation, taking the place of an old friend who can be irreverent but is informed and interesting on a wide range of issues.
