The Kent and Sussex branch of the British Red Cross provides short term mobility aid loans to people in need, including wheelchairs, commodes, walking sticks and frames.
You can either collect equipment or in some cases have it delivered for a small fee. We also stock new and reconditioned items for sale.

Where to borrow mobility aids
Mobility aids in Medway are available from 9 Stoke Road, Hoo, ME3 9BE or from CVS Medway, Under 1 Roof Building, 5a New Road Avenue, Chatham, ME4 6BB.
The types of mobility aids you can borrow include:
- wheelchairs
- crutches
- backrests
- bath seats
- walking sticks and frames
- commodes
- bedpans
- urinals
We request donations to help us provide this service.
The service is run by our volunteers. In some cases we may also require a refundable deposit.
Opening hours
The Hoo service is open on Mondays from 7pm to 8.30pm and on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm.
The Chatham service is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 12pm.
