The National Dementia Helpline offers information, support, guidance and signposting to other appropriate organisations for those with concerns about Alzheimer's disease or any other form of dementia.
The helpline is usually open:
- Monday to Wednesday from 9am to 8pm
- Thursday and Friday from 9am to 5pm
- Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm
Callers speak to trained Helpline Advisers. While the line may be busy when you call, the advisers will return every voicemail left.
Weekends (particularly Sundays) between 10am and 4pm are the quieter times to call.
Calls cost no more than the national call rate and count towards any inclusive minutes in a phone contract.
The cost from landlines is (as of September 2015) up to 12p per minute.
The cost from mobile phones may vary, as of September 2015 ranging from 3p to 45p per minute.
