Description

The Parkinson's UK helpline is a confidential service providing support to anyone affected by Parkinson's.

You can call the helpline for free on 0808 800 0303 Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm or Saturday 10am to 2pm.

The helpline can get very busy so if you do not get through you can leave your name and phone number for someone to get back to you.

You can also contact the helpline by email at hello@parkinsons.org.uk.

Or write to: Helpline, Parkinson's UK, 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London, SW1V 1EJ.

Somebody will respond to your email or postal enquiry within 5 days.

Support offered

Through the helpline our trained advisers, including specialist Parkinson's nurses, can provide information about all aspects of living with Parkinson's, such as:

  • medical issues including symptoms and treatments
  • employment and benefits
  • health and social care
  • emotional support
  • local support such as branches and support groups, and information and support workers
  • signposting to other sources of information

Using the helpline

The helpline can offer advice to people in the UK whose first language is not English, using a telephone interpreting service covering over 70 languages.

You can call the helpline directly and request an interpreter.

Healthcare professionals can also contact us, with their client's consent, and arrange for a helpline adviser and interpreter to call the client.

You can use the helpline to ask for the Peer Support Service, which puts you in touch with a trained volunteer who has personal experience of Parkinson's similar to yours.

This service is for people with Parkinson's and carers.

Parkinson's UK is a member of the Helplines Partnership and our service has been accredited to the Quality Standard.

This means that we are committed to quality and offer a professional service.
