Rainham Ladies Choir
Description

Rainham Ladies Choir rehearses on Mondays from 7.30pm to 9.45pm at St Thomas of Canterbury School, Twydall.

We are a friendly and enthusiastic bunch of ladies who share a love of singing.

We perform a wide range of music at competitive festivals and in concerts, raising over our 55-year history many thousands of pounds for local and national charities.

We are always happy to accept new members, and all voices are welcome.

Potential new members are welcome to come along to rehearsals free for four weeks, to listen and/or join in, before deciding whether or not they would like to join the choir permanently.

We no longer ask potential members to audition formally but new members are initially admitted to the choir for a probationary period. This ends when it is mutually decided that the person is ready to become a permanent member and sing in concerts or festivals.

Each new member is allocated a buddy who sings in the same section (soprano, mezzo-soprano or alto) of the choir.

This person not only offers help and assistance but also helps, in due course, to assess when and if the probationary member is ready to become a permanent member of the choir.

All ladies' voices are welcome but we would particularly welcome new singers who sing in the mezzo-soprano (second soprano) range.
