- How to recycle
-
If there is enough paint left to use for another project, you can:
- save it to use later
- give it away to a neighbour or friend
- list for free on community market pages
- donate it to Gillingham Street Angels HWRC donation point
If it is not reusable, you'll need to dry it out before you bring it to the household recycling centre.
To do this you can leave the lid off or mix the contents with:
- sand
- soil
- sawdust
- cat litter.
You cannot put wet paint in the waste containers at the Household Recycling Centres, if you bring wet paint that cannot be donated, you will be asked to take it home and dry it out.
We do not collect cans containing wet paint within the normal black sack waste service or non-recyclable waste containers at the household waste and recycling centres.
This is to prevent:
- damage to our refuse collection vehicles and compactors
- creating a health and safety hazard for staff and pedestrians.
