Shaws Wood is a residential care home for physically frail elderly people and those with dementia, located in a residential area of Strood.
Shaws Wood has space for up to 39 people in single rooms over two floors, with a choice of dining facilities and social space.
Shaws Wood also has a Day Care Centre for elderly people who might be looking for care and company in the day on a Tuesday and Friday each week from 10am to 4pm.
Residents requiring respite care can be admitted to the home for a period of one to four weeks.
Each afternoon a time is set aside for activities such as 'active armchairs', karaoke, bingo, pampering sessions, church services, communion, arts and crafts and movie shows.

The corridors of the home are colour coded to aid navigation around the building.
Residents can bring in their own furniture to their rooms and are encouraged to personalise them with their own possessions as well as a TV or radio if required.
