He will begin at the railway station, and finish at Railway Street’s junction with the High Street and Military Road. On the way, Brian will look at the station itself, the New Road viaduct, the now-demolished Rome House, St John’s Church and various businesses that were once found on the street.

Brian has written several books on Medway’s history, including The Chatham Scandal and Dumb Show and Noise. He is a past President of the Chatham Historical Society and was on the Friends of Medway Archives (FOMA) Committee. He was born in Chatham and continues to take a great interest in the history of the Medway Towns. He is a regular contributor to FOMA’s magazine The Clock Tower. However, he now lives in Tyldesley in Greater Manchester, and writes articles and gives talks on the history of his new local area.
