Calling all explorers: Magical creatures are on the loose this half-term and the Child-friendly Medway team need your help to locate them all.

The ‘Magical Creature Trail’ is a free event for children, young people and families on Monday 12 February at Pentagon Shopping Centre and Chatham High Street between 11am and 3pm.

Families will start the trail from The Pentagon Shopping Centre by collecting an activity card from the Child-friendly Medway team. The activity card contains clues to help families locate 10 unique magical creatures and find out more about each one.

Child-friendly Medway has teamed up with ‘The Magic Alley Prop Shop’ to bring Medway its’ first-ever creature trail, with more scheduled to take place across Medway later this year. The 10 creatures have been designed by Magic Alley’s specialist artists, creating a magical world of creatures of all shapes, sizes and personalities.

To find each creature, you’ll need to look out for them hidden in shop windows and community spaces.

Creatures to find

There are 10 creatures to find. We'll need all of Medway’s best creature spotters to help locate them. There are ones with feathers, scales and wings, to capture the hearts of all ages!

Spotters will be encouraged to take photos with the creatures and partake in creative activities.

Once you’ve found a creature, you can find out their name and a fact about them, which you can then add to your activity card.

The trail is estimated to take around 45 minutes to complete. To take part, please arrive no later than 2.15pm.

Arts and crafts workshops

We are also running creative, creature-themed workshops for children and young people alongside the trail. These take place at:

  • 11am
  • midday
  • 1pm
  • 2pm.

These free workshops are first-come-first-serve.
