Report illegal pavement crossing or dropped kerb
It is illegal when someone drives over a pavement without having a proper crossing built. This can damage the pavement and be unsafe for people walking.
What to look for
You should make a report to us if:
- you witness someone regularly driving over pavement without a dropped kerb
- a pavement has not been lowered properly
- it looks like someone made the dropped kerb themselves without permission from the council.
Make a report
Anyone can report illegal pavement crossing or dropped kerbs. You do not have to live nearby.
Tell us by completing our online form. You'll need the address of the property.
Report illegal pavement crossing or dropped kerb
Once you're in the form select 'Report an issue with a footway, highway or public right of way' from the list.
What happens after
Once we get your report:
- we'll inspect the area, including any possible damage to the pavement
- if there is not a dropped kerb or it has been illegally installed, we'll ask the property owner to apply for a proper crossing.
