How to do business with Medway Council
If you're a supplier interested in doing business with us you must register, for free, with both:
The Kent Business Portal is our procurement system. Most other councils in Kent also use it.
The Central Digital Platform is where all suppliers for the public sector must register themselves since the Procurement Act came into force. You can find out more about the Procurement Act 2023 in GOV.UK’s short guide for suppliers.
Current opportunities
On the Kent Business Portal you can:
- search for all contracting opportunities
- select all areas of work you’re interested in
- get email alerts when a tender goes live for these areas of work
- view tender documentation
- express interest in opportunities to provide works, goods and services.
You do not need to contact us in another way. We do not have a pre-distribution list.
Dynamic Purchasing Systems
There are some alternative routes to market, known as Dynamic Purchasing Systems. These allow bidders to continuously enrol and have been set up for:
- SEND Transport
- supported living and accommodation
- agency staff.
The rules for public procurement changed from February 2025 when the Procurement Act came into force. This means these opportunities will appear until the contract term ends, but all new contracts must go through the Kent Business Portal.
Current contracts
We publish all the contracts we hold in our contracts register on the Kent Business Portal.
