Join our community involvement groups
We'll be running monthly adult social care community involvement groups from January 2026.
At these groups, you'll be able to:
- meet others
- share your experiences of adult social care
- have your voice heard.
We want to build trust by listening to your feedback. Over time, we'll share with you the difference this has made to our services.
By working together, we can turn ideas into real changes that improve care and make a positive difference to people’s lives.
Who can join
Come along if you’re aged 18 and over and:
- rely on care and support from Medway Council
- are a paid or unpaid carer
- have a family member who receives support from Medway Council’s Adult Social Care team.
Group details
Groups will take place in Chatham and Gillingham.
Chatham
- Where: Salvation Army, Church Street, Chatham, ME4 4BT
- When: from Friday 23 January and then every third Friday of the month
- Time: 10am to 11.30am.
Gillingham
- Where: Medway Park Sports Centre, Mill Road, Gillingham, ME7 1HF
- When: from Friday 30 January 2026 and then every last Friday of the month
- Time: 10am to 11.30am.
The groups will likely expand to other Medway towns later in the year.
How to join
To join, email changetogether@medway.gov.uk with your:
- name
- email address
- preferred group (Chatham or Gillingham).
Change Together Medway
Change Together Medway is about hearing the voices of people that use our care and support services, including their families or carers to help us change, shape and improve the services we provide.
We want to ensure:
- we hear directly from people with lived experience to learn from you to help us improve our services
- you're involved and can make informed decisions around your care or the care of your loved ones
- we strengthen relationships, work together and provide opportunities for people to express their views and influence decisions, where possible.

We're developing a mailing list so that in the future, we can contact you about feedback opportunities or help we may need. This will allow us to learn from your expertise.

Adult Social Care Strategy survey
We're updating our Adult Social Care Strategy and asked to hear your thoughts on our goals, mission and commitments.
We heard from:
- people who receive support from adult social care, their families and carers
- our partner organisations
- the charity sector
- care providers.
You could give your feedback either by coming along to one of our sessions or completing our online survey.
The consultation ran from 8 September to 19 October 2025.
