The business advice is supported by Medway Council and can help guide local businesses to find solutions best suited to their own needs.

Medway has a thriving business environment. It's home to a range of businesses that drive local employment and generate economic activity.  

We believe in offering the right infrastructure to support businesses and can advise about business creation and generating sustainable growth. 

We’ve invested in business support providers, Locate in Kent, and the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce. These providers offer local business owners the chance to get expert business advice that is free and impartial

Business advice services

We can offer support to start-ups and pre-trading businesses through the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Start Medway Programme.

The programme is held once a month and is open to anyone who lives in Medway. The programme is made up of three, one day workshops spread over 3 weeks.

Each workshop focuses on a different element that is key to the successful running of a business:

  • the business plan
  • making the sale
  • money management

The Kent and Medway Growth Hub forms part of the South East Business Hub, the South East Local Enterprise Partnership’s business support programme.

In partnership with the Growth Hub, Medway Council offer Medway residents and business owners free one-to-one business advice. This is offered with a qualified business advisor, face to face or over the phone.

Future Forward

Do you need support with your business recovery goals? Are you a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) located in Kent or Medway? Then Future Forward is for you.

Locate in Kent is on a mission to help restore economic growth by helping businesses across the county to plan for the future, build resilience and carve out new opportunities. Qualifying businesses will receive 12 hours of free consultancy, providing you with the right advice and level of support, bespoke to your business.

Guidance provided

Expert business advisors will provide you with the guidance and tailored step by step strategies you need to rebuild and support your long term business success.

They will work with your company to review key aspects of your business operations including:

  • customers and markets
  • operations and processes
  • financial planning
  • people and performance
