Trousers

Young people are essential to taking forward the climate agenda, as displayed by the commitment they have shown in recent years. We want to ensure that young people in Medway can get involved and have a platform to voice their thoughts and ideas.

Medway Youth Council

The Medway Youth Council (MYC) is a forum for young people – run by young people. They are independent but are supported by us.

The MYC's 2 main roles are to:

  • address issues raised by young people
  • act as a consultative group for decision-makers.

The MYC has a passion for climate change. But they also address other issues raised by young people.

To learn more, or get involved, head to the Medway Youth Council website.

Youth services

Our youth services team works with young people in Medway to provide support and activities for them to take part in. They have a dedicated group of young people working on climate action. If you're under 18, you're welcome to get involved.

Find out more about the Youth Services team. You can also email the team at youth.enquiries@medway.gov.uk.

Thursday’s Fashion Sessions

On Thursdays, a group of young people meet at the Woodland Youth Centre in Gillingham, from 6pm to 8pm, to learn how to turn old clothes into something new to wear. If you would like to get involved, email Stella Williams at stella.williams@medway.gov.uk.

Medway Youth Climate Change Movement

The Medway Youth Climate Change Movement is a local movement by youth for youth to raise awareness about climate change.
