About the Regulation 18 consultation
We were in an important stage of our roadmap for our new Local Plan where you could have your say on the emerging plan including:
- key themes
- priorities and vision
- improvements to the local environment
- support for communities
- how to strengthen the economy
- how to regenerate the urban centres and riverside sites
- potential development in suburban and rural areas.
The Local Plan is about more than ensuring housing development is in the right place across Medway. It makes sure we have the right infrastructure to support development including:
- new and improved roads
- schools
- health facilities
- other provisions to grow Medway sustainably.
The consultation did not detail policies or identify sites preferred by us for new development. The detail will be shown in the next stage of the Local Plan which will be published next year.
